Everyone loves to beautifully wrap their gifts for Christmas. But some of us find it more difficult than others.
Are you all thumbs when it comes to gift wrapping? Well, fret no more. Follow these twelve simple steps and your gift wrapping will put you in the gift wrap big leagues.
Firstly, you need to measure the amount of paper you need. Make sure you have enough to meet in the middle.
Next, use sellotape to stick the paper in the middle and then cut off any additional paper from the ends.
Fold the ends over to make a wedge shape.
Use packing tape on the inside of the paper to seal. This adds a neat finish as you can’t see masses of tape on the outside of the package.
Do the same to the other side of the parcel.
Turn the parcel over and repeat on the other end.
Make a cross with decorative ribbon that hides where the paper joins.
Wind roughly ten folds of ribbon around your hand and join the ends with sellotape. This is the beginning of your bow.
Cut both ends to a point.
Bring both of the pointed ends together and then tie with a thin piece of ribbon. Don’t forget to remove the sellotape afterwards.
Next, pull out one of the loops and turn the bow around, pulling out another loop from the other side. Continue to do this until you have a bow.
Finally, attach the bow to the middle of the ribbon cross using hidden tape. Instead of hidden tape, you can also fold sellotape so that one end sticks to the other, forming a loop and stick this to the ribbon in order to attach it to the parcel.
Tip: if you have an odd shaped present, place it into a box to make it easier to wrap.
